The European Commission will dispatch an additional $75 million in support of Lebanon. The funds are part of an annual assistance package to aid the country in its effort to absorb the impact of the Syrian crisis. “It will address medium and longer-term needs of refugees from Syria and Lebanese host communities alike; in particular through supporting childhood and education services and through enhancing basic infrastructure and economic recovery in the country,” a statement by the Commission said.

Last week, the Commission had announced $28 million in aids, partly to Palestinian refugees who were also affected by the crisis.
