Crédit Libanais and Fransabank became the first two local banks to officially launch the online tax payment via credit card through the online payment gateway ‘NetCommerce’, in partnership with the Ministry of Finance.
“The new service aims at improving the quality of services provided to taxpayers as well as enhancing tax collection,” said Joseph Torbey, Chairman and General Manager at Crédit Libanais.
All Lebanese taxpayers will be able to settle their taxes and fees via the Ministry’s website, where users can pay through Visa or MasterCard credit cards.
Adnan Kassar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fransabank, said they aimed at being the first to offer Lebanese citizens this service, according to new international banking standards in an effective and comfortable way. “The new service is innovative, easy to use, quick, guaranteed, safe, and confidential,” he said.
‘Net Commerce’ was established in 1999 through a partnership between TeleInvest Company, Crédit Libanais, and Fransabank. The gateway provides secure online payment services with real time transaction validation when using MasterCard and Visa cards.
