Ghaddar Machinery, a manufacturer and importer of power generators, was awarded the largest Lebanese importer from the UK for 2012. The British Ambassador Tom Fletcher delivered the award to Mohamad Samih Ghaddar, Chairman and General Manager.

Ghaddar Machinery imported about 300,000 Perkins engines from the UK, in a 20-year period. The company imported 20,000 engines, last year. “About 9,000 engines are assembled and transformed into generators, in our facility, and 11,000 are distributed as is, in the local and regional markets,” said Mohamad Afif Ghaddar, Marketing Manager.

Ghaddar Machinery is the exclusive distributor of Perkins engines in the local market. It manufactures generators with powers ranging between 9 to 2250 KVA in its 50,000 square meter facility, in Sidon.

About 80 percent of Ghaddar generators are exported to the Gulf, Iraq, Syria, African countries, and South America, such as Colombia, Argentina, and Chili.
Ghaddar Machinery also has factories in Sharjah, UAE, and Nigeria. “We also have an expansion plan to open a factory in Saudi Arabia soon,” said Ghaddar.
