The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut & Mount Lebanon (CCIABML) has begun works on a new building in Sin el Fil. The new building will serve as a full venue for the Chamber and not as a branch of the Beirut headquarters. The Beirut premises are also witnessing full renovations at a cost of $7.8 million.
Mohammad Choucair, Chair of the Chamber said: “The private sector has already supported the Chamber of Beirut with $3.2 million and it will support the new Sin El Fil building, with more than six million.” Choucair said that this project “is not part of our reelection efforts, it should have been built two years ago, but it was delayed due to technical problems.” Elections for a new board are scheduled for next month.
Pierre Al Achkar, Chairman of the Syndicate of Hotel Owners said: “The private sector that supports the Chamber has the right to get a building in Mount Lebanon. This building will help the citizens to settle their transactions faster.”
According to Nassib Gemayel, Chairman of the Union of Mount Lebanon Traders, the project will be a consolidation of partnership between the Mount Lebanon traders and the Chamber.
