Hariri said that the Lebanese-Egyptian higher joint committee will resume its meetings to discuss steps to boost bilateral trade and other economy related topics.
Hariri said the committee which last convened in 2008, will hold its next meeting in May or June.
Nadif said that the Egyptian-Lebanese bilateral trade is still at low levels and did not exceed $500 million in 2009. “I have agreed with Hariri to boost the bilateral trade volume to above $one billion over the next two years (until 2012),” Nadif said.
Nadif said that the value of Egyptian investments in Lebanon reached $500 million and the value of Lebanese investments in Egypt reached the same value.
Hariri said the discussions will also include the possibility of increasing the amount of Egyptian gas supplied to Lebanon.
