Monza Cars Lebanon has obtained the exclusive dealership of the Italian-made Brio car, a fully electric, four-wheeled, and two-seater commuter. It will be introduced to the local market in mid April. The dealership agreement covers Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Monza Cars is already a sub dealer for Chevrolet and Cadillac.
The car, which is intended for urban use, is powered by a battery and a booster. The battery charge lasts for 40 kilometers and requires one hour to get fully recharged through any home electric outlet. The battery is easily movable to recharge at home. The car has a maximum speed of 45 kilometers per hour. “Even when the car runs out of batteries on the road, it can still move at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour thanks to a backup power supply,” said Houssam Khanji, General Manager of Monza Cars. The life span of the battery is around seven years.
Monza Cars will be dedicating a full floor of their 4-story building in Raouche as a showroom for Brio electric cars. “We will be sending a team for training in Italy,” he said. A team from the Italian manufacturer will also be visiting.
The car will be sold at$15,000-$20,000. The company offers full warranty and free maintenance for two years. The car needs minimal maintenance. “The profit margin from the sale of this car is very slim, but are introducing it due to high demand,” said Khanji. “We are also aware that this is the future of urban transportation,” he said. So far, ten orders have been placed for the Brio. Monza placed a first order of 40 cars.
Monza is offering a test drive the car for a full day to select potential clients. “It gathered interest from doctors, businesspeople, and women” said Khanji. It takes four Brio cars to fill the standard parking space of one conventional car.
