The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) launched a full-fledged touristic plan for the summer, named ‘Live Love Lebanon’. The campaign is a joint venture between the MoT and civil society bodies, in collaboration with Middle East Airlines (MEA).

It involves a large number of packages and programs that are available through a dedicated website: www.livelovelebanon.com.

Packages are grouped under six themes: Culture lovers, adventure lovers, festivals lovers, nature lovers, wine lovers, and beach lovers. Prices vary depending on the number of days. They extend from two to six days.

Prices range from around $150 (for internal trips without ticket fare), and reach up to around $1,500, depending on the country of visit. For example, a tour including Beirut, Byblos, Zahle, and the Shouf for six days and five nights would cost an Egyptian visitor $1,460 in a double room, and an Italian tourist $1,515, including the air ticket.  Tourists are able to book their trip right from the website.

The MoT has also re-launched its own website www.destinationlebanon.gov.lb which provides tourists with information about touristic destinations in the country, and with accommodation data.

The MoT said that additional specialized touristic packages will see light in line with campaigns to promote the country over social media.

The ministry set the third Sunday of May of every year as the ‘Lebanese Tourism Day’ where the tourism season will be launched. “We will pay tribute every year to some hospitality establishments that had distinctive contribution to the sector,” said Minister Michel Pharaon.
