Solidere is planning to complete infrastructure work at the waterfront district and start the construction of a department store, according to General Manager Mounir Douaidi.
“We are proceeding with completing the rest of the infrastructure on the waterfront extending from Biel entrance to Marina,” he said. Work will commence within three months. According to Douaidi, “these works have become a priority to Solidere because developers want to start their projects there soon.”
Solidere’s second priority is the completion of the souks with the development of a department store designed by Zaha Hadid Architects. “This project was planned earlier and we were only waiting for the design phase to be completed. And it has,” the general manager said.
The department store will open its doors to a three-story retail development covering 26,730 m2 of commercial space.
