The Faculty of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences of the Lebanese University (LU) signed a cooperative agreement on September 3, with four municipalities: Baalbek, Hasbaya, Kawkaba, and Aramoun.
The purpose of the project is to boost reforestation in the municipalities, which will offer the lands, while LU will offer the technical expertise to plant the trees.
The agreement aims to create trial locations to provide innovative and sustainable technologies for reforestation. A trial of the project will take place in the LU building at Mathaf.
The project is part of the Agricultural Rural Development Program (ARDP), which is funded by the European Union.
