To target architects, industrial, and engineering companies

Dabbous Printing aims to transform part of its operations to 3D printing, starting within two weeks. It will be the first local printing house to use this technology.

The printing house in the Beirut Central District will be devoted exclusively to 3D printing. All paper printing will be relocated to the press house’s new premises in Bchamoun.

Dabbous printing purchased the machine from the US-based 3D Systems through its local agents, Information Technology Group, for $250,000. Nabil Dabbous, Managing Partner of the printing house, said that the machine is for professional use, it prints large sizes and high resolution products in full color.

Resin is the raw material used in the 3D machine. “We chose resin rather than plastic as it has more uses and targets a wider client range,” said Dabbous.

The company will also offer 3D scanning services and a team for drawing digital 3D designs.

The price of one cubic centimeter of a printed item is less than one dollar.

Dabbous said: “We will be conducting awareness sessions for our clients.” He said that they will be targeting engineering companies, architects, industrial companies, universities, and others.
