Cosmetics and skin care manufacturer Azalia will open a factory in the industrial zone of Fanar in early June.

The company will market its products, which will include UV protection and purification cosmetics, body lotions and soaps, under the ‘Yucca’ brand.

The $1 million factory will have a total built-up area of 400 square meters and will create eight full time jobs, in the early stages of operation.

The production capacity will be 40,000 units per month, as a start. The factory will apply European manufacturing standards that will comprise the labeling and packaging machines.

Joseph Younes, major shareholder and General Manager, said that the entire production will be exported to Arab countries and distributed there through agents.

“There will be a trial phase for the products in the shops to ensure quality,” said Younes. Skin protection and whitening cosmetics will be priced from $16 (LL24,000) and soaps from $3 (LL4,500).
