Mechaalany canned food factory
expands to Zahle

To double production and produce new items

Société Libanaise de Boisson-Mechaalany, a manufacturer of canned foods, dairy products, pickles and ready meals, will open a factory in Zahle in mid-2016.

Bernard Mechaalany, Plant Manager, said: “We are out of stock, so we will be expanding our factory to enlarge our market share, and produce new items.” This will include ketchup and ready-to-serve sauce.

The $3 million facility will have a built-up area of 5,000 square meters. The facility will create around 45 full time jobs.

The factory will increase its total production capacity by 50 percent to 20 tons per day . Around 60 percent of the company’s products are exported to various countries.
