Plastic bottle factory expands in Roumieh

Elite Plast, a manufacturer of plastic bottles, will expand its Roumieh factory in late 2015.

Elias Ghosn, General Manager, said: “We will expand to be able to export our products.”

The $2 million expansion will increase the space of the factory from 1,500 to 3,000 square meters. It will also create around 20 new full time jobs.

The production capacity will be doubled to 2 million plastic bottles per year. Ghosn said that the company will install high-tech equipment that can grow production capacities and provide better quality. The plastic raw materials required for this industry are imported from Gulf countries.

Elite Plast provides the local market with plastic bottles for car oils, but aims to export around 80 percent of its production to the Arab region, mainly to Iraq, after the factory’s expansion.
