Dmoul Industrial City will be finalized in Nabatieh in mid 2016. Khalil Zantout, major shareholder and Chairman of Ahmad El-Sawi Zantout Establishments is managing the project.
Dmoul Industrial City measures one million square meters and is located 75 kilometers from Beirut. Zantout said that the land plot will be divided into two parts. The first will be dedicated for the second category of industries, such as construction material factories including paints, tiles, and metal, as well as slaughterhouses. This category represents around 80 percent of the land. The second part will be for fourth category, including light industries like food factories.
Investment in the infrastructure is $20 million. The land plot was owned by Zantout. The city will be equipped with the required infrastructure. It will include stations for waste, water and sewage treatment. It will also comprise power generation and telephone networks, as well as roads. Zantout said that most of the required infrastructure has already been finalized, it just needs electricity connections and asphalt.
Dmoul City will offer industrialists the possibility to purchase and lease plots with affordable prices. Zantout said that prices have not yet been set, as they are waiting until the city is finalized. “Demand for the lands is very good, but we will not start selling before we finish it,” said Zantout.
The project will also include an agricultural land adjacent to the industrial city. It will have a total space of 1.2 million m2. The land is planted with citrus and avocado trees. “We will be working on developing the types of trees and building a packing center in the near future,” said Zantout. The agricultural land is equipped with a drip irrigation network and the whole infrastructure required for agriculture. Investment in the project is estimated at $3 million.
