Beirut Beer is launching a draft package for restaurants, said Kassatly Chtaura, its manufacturer. The draft is drawn from stainless barrels.

Nayef Kassatly, CEO, said: “We are working on the beer culture, by offering consumers a fresh beer, to make them appreciate this product and increase consumption per capita.” The expiry date of the draft beer is 30 days, and “this will help us compete with imported beer,” he said.

Kassatly Chtaura signed contracts with around 100 restaurants, with others in the pipeline.

The company invested around $1 million in equipment for this project. Kassatly said that it benefited from subsidized loans provided by Audi Bank and Byblos Bank to fund the project.

Germany was the source of machines and technical knowhow. Samples of the products are routinely sent to Germany to test its quality.

The production capacity of the machines is 3,000 liters of draft beer per hour. “We will not operate initially at full capacity,” he said. The price of the draft beer provided to the restaurants will be lower than the bottled ones.
