The Council of Ministers has appointed Bassel Al Ayoubi as Director General of Investment and Maintenance at the Ministry of Telecommunications, and Imad Kreidieh as Director General of OGERO.
The two appointments have ended the tenure of Abdul Menhem Youssef who, for many years, held the two posts concurrently.
Al Ayoubi’s telecom career began in 2000 in Yemen. But for the past five years, he was the ‘Sales Engagement Manager’ in the Middle East for Nokia Siemens Network. Al Ayoubi holds a telecom degree from the Arab Beirut University.
Kreidieh was previously CEO of Middle East, North Africa, and India at Networked Energy Services. He is also CEO of Makassed Philanthropic Association. He has 27 years’ experience in the domains of finance and telecom, locally, and in the Arab Gulf. He was educated at the Ecole Supérieure des Affaires (ESA) in Beirut and Northeastern University in the U.S.
Kreidieh said: “It is a huge responsibility and I appreciate the size of it.”
He also said there is a lot of work slated for his team.
“My plan is to restore the confidence of Ogero’s employees and build their capacities,” he said.
“It is very easy to set up plans, but what’s difficult is to find the right people to execute them,” he said.
