Arope Syria will list 51 percent of its shares on the stock exchange.
Blom Bank is the major shareholder in Arope Syria; it owns a direct ten percent stake in the insurance firm, and a 34 percent indirect stake through its insurance subsidiary- Arope Insurance and five percent through its banking affiliate- Bank of Syria and Overseas.
The shares will start trading on the DSE on April 22 at a price of SYP640 ($13.9) per share.
The company which is the thirteenth to be listed on the DSE made a net profit of $2 million in 2009.
