UNICEF has partnered with Digital Opportunity Trust Lebanon (DOT) to launch the ‘Bridge, Outsource, Transform’ (BOT) sourcing platform. The project will link skilled employees with local and international companies.

Charbel Trad, BOT Project Manager at DOT said that the project falls under UNICEF’s Generation of Innovation Leaders (GIL) program, and BOT is funded by the Embassy of Netherlands and the German Development Bank (KFW).

Trad said that DOT provides various levels of training, from basic digital literacy to higher levels such as social media, micro-work (operational) skills, website coding and mobile applications development. DOT has already trained more than 3,100 individuals.

On the buy side, Trad said that DOT anticipates businesses in different sectors to demand its outsourced services. Companies can include consultancy companies requesting survey services, E-commerce companies such as Hi-Cart, and archiving skills.

The first international job, according to Trad, was performed for a data management company based in New York. DOT plans to contact companies such as Google, which may have a big demand for digitally skilled youth.
