“Take a plant! Revolt!” Joslin ­Kehdy’s words echoed in the ears of visitors as they left the launch of Lebanon’s EcoSouk, the country’s first zero-waste store. In any other setting, the remarks might sound trite, but for those familiar with Recycle Lebanon’s work, they know it’s a genuine sentiment, as Kehdy, the NGO’s founder, encouraged guests to take home burlap-wrapped akidineh trees.
