In its recent Progress Report, CDR said that the total value of implemented projects over the period reached $6.5 billion or 73 percent of the total number of projects.

Out of the total funds allocated for implemented projects, the transportation sector received the largest share of cash flows of $1.4 billion, followed by the electricity sector which received $1.3 billion of funds, and the education sector which received $750 million.

The number of signed projects that are still awaiting implementation accounted to 27 percent of total projects or $2.5 billion, CDR said.

The transportation sector constituted the bulk of signed contracts or 25 percent of the total. It was followed by the electricity sector at17 percent, and the treatment and potable water sector at 15 percent.

Foreign funding for the projects stood at $4 billion over the 16-year period, CDR said.
