The Fund for the Displaced announced today the mechanisms that will be followed in distributing the financial assistance to those whose homes were destroyed in the area of Nahr Al Bared in 2007. It said that distributing the money to the beneficiaries will be over two stages. The first stage will begin on February 21st, and it will involve the owners of 491 homes out of a total of 700 homes that are to be reconstructed. No date was assigned to begin the second phase of the plan, but the entire project is scheduled for completion within one year, said Fadi Aramouni, the chairman of the fund. The total cost of the project is five million Euros, all of which were donated by Italy.
