June 28, 2011- The Ministry of Energy and Water is organizing the first International Conference in the country for the exploration of fuel resources on Wednesday and Thursday (June 29, 30) at Le Royal hotel in Dbayeh.

Minister of Energy and Water Gebran Bassil will launch the conference on Wednesday morning (9:30 am).

Major international oil companies will take part in the event. The ministry will brief the attendees on the ongoing preparations for launching the first round for licenses. It will also hear the outlooks of the proficient companies and their experience in the field of oil exploration.

The conference will also include a field tour on Friday July 1, during which geological experts and the attendant companies will examine the nature of the rocks in Mount Lebanon.
