Public drivers expect subsidy before July 15

Major international companies to study prospects of oil exploration

June 28, 2011- Head of the Confederation of Public Drivers and Transport Unions, Bassam Tleis, declared that subsidies to public drivers will be distributed before July 15, An-Nahar reported Tuesday (June 28).

Tleis said the Ministry of Finance has ensured a treasury advance to pay the subsidy through an urgent draft law achieved by Minister of Finance Muhammad Safadi and approved by Prime Minister Najib Mikati.

Tleis told An-Nahar that Minister Safadi will continue to support the subsidy through a new mechanism. He said that drivers of 35000 public cars, 4000 vans, and 2200 public buses have filled the applications and prepared the required documents.
