Authorized insurance brokers

Ministry of Economy: 427 independent brokers and 1,129 agents

July 13, 2011- The Ministry of Economy and Trade published a list including the names of all authorized insurance brokers and agents (till June 8, 2011).

According to a statement published by the Ministry, there are 1,129 captive insurance agents (working exclusively for one company without being employees), 125 independent brokers (persons), and 302 brokerage agencies operating in the country.

Those wanting to apply for an insurance broker license should fill an application at the Ministry of Economy and Trade.
Insurance brokerage agencies and independent brokers are required to pay a financial guarantee of L.L 25 million. Exclusive brokers should pay a guarantee of L.L5 million, provided they operate under the responsibility of the agencies they work for.
