Treasury bills auction generates L.L.544 billion; 5-year coupons most attractive

July 25, 2011- The primary results of the latest auction on Lebanese lira treasury bills, dated July 21, posted a primary surplus equivalent to around L.L.51.2 billion (around $34 million).
According to preliminary results, the total value of subscriptions during the latest auction amounted to L.L.543.9 billion (equivalent to $360.8 million).
The latest auction’s results showed stability in the average yield on the one-year, two-year, and three-year categories at 4.81 percent, 5.34 percent, and 5.94 percent respectively. The interest rate on the newly-released seven-year (84-month) category was set at 7.9 percent.
Subscriptions to five-year category accounted for more than half of total subscriptions, with 63.18 percent, valued at around L.L.343.6 billion.
